Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Collins Chiji, has defected to the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Jameela News reports that Chiji along with seven other lawmakers in Imo joined the ruling APC on Tuesday.

The speaker who made his decision to leave PDP during a plenary revealed the names of the seven lawmakers who defected with him.

The names of the lawmakers are, Uche Ogbuagu representing Ikeduru, Dominic Ezerioha representing Oru West, Chigozie Nwaneri representing Oru East, Kanayo Onyemaechi from Owerri West, Kennedy Ibe representing Obowo, Onyemaechi Njoku representing Ihitte/Uboma, and Eddy Obinna from Aboh Mbaise.

Jameela News understands that Imo State which is now Governed by Hope Uzodinma, a member of the APC, now occupies 18 seats in the State House of Assembly, PDP occupies 8 while Action Alliance AA has one.
