Governor Akeredolu has gladly revealed that he tested negative to the deadly Coronavirus after self-isolating, Jameela News reports.

The Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, announced on microblogging site, Twitter, that he tested negative to the virus after facing fears of possible positive reports.

There were speculations making the rounds that since Akeredolu was among those who came in contact with the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, who tested positive to the deadly Coronavirus, he may have contracted the contagious and deadly disease.

Debunking the speculation and allaying the fears of several supporters, the Governor in a Tweet, revealed his negative result.

He wrote; “Good morning sir. The result is negative. Congratulations your Excellency”

I just received the above text from the Commissioner for Health regarding my #Covid19 test results. We give all the glory to God. Wish everyone affected speedy recovery.”

In a similar report, the Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has also tested negative to the deadly disease officially known as COVID-19.

His Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Crusoe Osagie, confirmed the result of Obaseki in a statement.

He said, “I can confirm that the governor tested negative for coronavirus when he ran the rapid diagnostic test for the virus. However, we are currently awaiting the result of a more conclusive PCR test.”

“In the meantime, the governor has decided to continue to work in self-solation and he is asymptomatic.”
