Coronavirus Update: Nigeria Records 20 New Cases, See Details

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, has announced 20 new cases of Coronavirus in an update on the global pandemic on Monday, March 30.
Jameela News reports that this number is the highest the country has recorded in a day since the first case was reported on February 27.
Coronavirus update in Nigeria
According to the NCDC, 14 new cases were recorded in Lagos, 4 in FCT, 2 in Kaduna and 1 in Oyo, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 131.
NCDC wrote on their website: “On the 30th of March 2020, Twenty (20) new confirmed cases of COVID-19 recorded in Nigeria.
“Till date, One hundred thirty-one (131) cases have been confirmed, eight cases have been discharged and two deaths from COVID-19 recorded in Nigeria.
“Of the Twenty(20) new cases reported on the 30th of March, Four(4) are in FCT, thirteen (13) are in Lagos, two (2) are in Kaduna and one(1) in Oyo State.
” All new cases have mild to moderate symptoms and are currently receiving care.
“A multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.”
Meanwhile, Jameela News understands that the latest case of the COVID-19 pandemic is from the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
Governor Makinde revealed his positive test result to the virus in a tweet published on Monday, March 30.
He wrote: “I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully.
“Please continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe.”

Three Nigerian State Governors test positive for COVID-19
This online news can confirm that not more than three state Governors in Nigeria have tested positive to the deadly Coronavirus.
First was the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohamed, then Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and the third which was recently diagnosed is the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde.
