Edo 2020: Ajimobi Takes Over APC From Oshiomhole, Obaseki Reacts

Abiola Ajimobi has been named acting national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) after the court of Appeal upheld the suspension of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Jameela News reports that the former National Chairman on Tuesday, June 16, lost his position as a leader of the party after a three-man panel of the Court of Appeal upheld his suspension which was first initiated by Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki.
This online news medium understands that the National Working Committee of the APC named former Oyo State Governor, Ajimobi who is reportedly in a critical condition at an unnamed hospital, the acting national chairman of the party.
Reacting to Oshiomhole’s suspension, the embattled Obaseki who had initially resigned his membership of the party and was rumoured to be eyeing the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said that he has not joined a new political party.
Governor Obaseki took to the microblogging site, Twitter on Wednesday morning to dispel rumours that he had joined another political party, adding that his focus is on the COVID-19 pandemic.
His words, “I have not moved to a new platform yet to seek re-election.
My focus now is to control the spread of the coronavirus (#COVID19) pandemic, which is ravaging our country and threatening our healthcare system.
Stay safe.”
