Guinness World Records Certifies Hilda Baci As Holder Of Longest Cooking Marathon

Guinness World Records has certified a Nigerian Chef Hilda Baci with the holder for the longest cooking marathon on Tuesday, June 13, 2023.
Hilda who hails from Akwa-Ibom, the South-south region of Nigeria, a West African country cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes.
“Longest cooking marathon (individual) 93 hr 11 min  by Hilda Baci,” GWR said.
Jameela News reports that Hilda began cooking from May 11 and completed her goal on May 15. However, spectators who monitored the chef from Nigeria recorded 100 hours, Guinness World Record said on their official page that the chef cooked for 93 hours.
Reacting to the claim that she cooked for a 100 hours, the team said that 7 hours was deducted from the record holders cooking time because she exceeded her rest time.
“Hilda attempted to set a record of 100 hours, however, almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt,” the record group stated.
The Nigeria Chef has taken the title held by Indian Chef Lata Tandon in 2019 who cooked for 87 hours 45 minutes.
Jameela News monitoring team learned that the chef had been in the business of food vlogging and presentation since 2019. She anchored a food programme called Dine on a Budget. She also owned a cooking vlog called My food by Hilda.
Hilda Baci born Hilda Bassey said in an Instagram post that she cooked because she loved to care for people. Born by an Abuja-based Chef Calabar pot, Hilda learnt the business of catering from her mother.
