Just In: Abbas Becomes Reps Speaker After Massively Defeating Opponents

Tajudeen Abbas, a member of the House of Representatives from Kaduna State, has emerged as the Speaker after defeating his opponents by polling 353 votes.
Jameela News reports that Abass is the Speaker of the the 10th National Assembly lower chamber.
The Speaker’s opponents Idris Wase, who is the former Deputy Speaker ad Aminu Jaji each polled three votes each.
Tajudeen Abbas who is a member if the ruling All Progressives Congress embarrassed his opponents who polled votes from themselves and the lawmakers that nominated them.
Meanwhile, Abbas was nominated by former Majority Leader, Ado Doguwa and was seconded by Nnaji Nnolim, a member of the PDP.
The former deputy speaker was nominated by Tijjani Ismail and seconded by Muhammed Abdulmummin.
Also Mr Jaji was nominated Ahmed Doro.
Sada Soli and Miriam Onuoha did not announce their withdrawal from the race, however, no one nominated them.
Although Soli and Onuoha did not announce their withdrawal, they voted for Abbas.
